DENVER’S REDLINE Celebrates “The Human Touch”

RBC Exhibition Reflects People and Diversity


DENVER (Feb. 15, 2012) – Denver’s RedLine, an urban laboratory designed to foster the convergence of art, education and community, together with RBC Wealth Management are pleased to announce the opening of The Human Touch: Selections from the RBC Wealth Management Collection, a distinctive exhibition celebrating people and diversity. The exhibition will be on display at RedLine March 17 – April 27, 2012.

From serious to whimsical, realistic to abstract, the exhibition features artworks devoted to creative interpretations of the human figure, reflecting astounding diversity in media and the people portrayed. The collection explores concepts of self and identity, and includes the works of internationally renowned artists who offer a vast array of perspectives. Participating artists include Chuck Close, Roland Fischer, Roy Lichtenstein, Vik Muniz, Hung Liu, and Jaune Quick-to-See Smith.

“RedLine serves as a place for convergence of art, ideas and people,” said PJ D’Amico, executive director, RedLine. This exhibition particularly through its diversity brings people into a dynamic relationship between art and their lived experience by celebrating the human touch in all of its rich and varied form.”

For more than 19 years, RBC Wealth Management has collected and presented art that reflects the society in which we live and work. The corporate collection, permanently displayed at the firm’s headquarters in Minneapolis, has grown to more than 400 pieces. €, Nearly 50 pieces from the collection comprise The Human Touch art tour, which is visiting cities across the country where RBC Wealth Management offices are located.

“By supporting the arts, we hope to help foster communication, dialogue and a greater appreciation for the role that the arts play in shaping our world,” said Dan Ball, director of RBC Wealth Management Rocky Mountain Region. “We’re proud to bring this magnificent collection to Colorado.”
