DENVER FILM ANNOUNCES WOMEN+FILM FESTIVAL LINEUP Featuring films and conversations by and about women

Denver Film has announced the dates for its 12th Annual Women+Film Festival. The virtual Festival kicks-off April 13 and runs through April 18 and will be accessible through use of Denver Film’s Virtual Cinema platform available to screen at www.denverfilm.org and by downloading the Denver Film app for Roku TV or Apple TV.

The April 13 Opening Night kicks off with a special presentation of the film, RITA MORENO: JUST A GIRL WHO DECIDED TO GO FOR IT, a film about the remarkable life and 70-year career of singer, actress and dancer Rita Moreno. The Festival wraps up April 18 with the Closing Night presentation of, HOLLER, a film about a woman who joins a dangerous scrap metal crew in order to pay for her college education.

“From our Opening Night special presentation through an amazing six-day lineup of programming, we’re excited to bring some of the most thought-provoking and challenging, as well as creative and entertaining films that highlight women’s stories on the screen and women working behind the camera,” said Festival Founder Barbara Bridges. “Although we won’t be able to gather in-person again this year, our exclusive virtual platform provides our audiences with access to these incredible stories that help drive important conversations in our community.”

Founded in 2010, the Women+Film Festival was created to showcase and screen outstanding films and conversations by and about women to Colorado audiences. The six-day film festival is designed to connect audiences with the filmmakers whose groundbreaking work examines the roles, challenges, and triumphs of women everywhere.

The festival will feature virtual Q&A’s, panels, and conversations with filmmakers and the Colorado community. The Q&A’s will be shown post-film for the following: AMY TAN: UNINTENDED MEMOIR, END OF THE LINE: THE WOMEN OF STANDING ROCK, LUCHADORAS, PLAYING WITH SHARKS: THE VALERIE TAYLOR STORY, TRUTH TO POWER: BARBARA LEE SPEAKS FOR ME, and more.

Full festival passes are $90 for Denver Film Members/$110 Non-Member and individual film tickets are $12 for Denver Film Members/$15 Non-Member. Individual tickets are currently on sale and full festival passes are available at denverfilm.org
