DCAH Dental Surgery Helps Save Dog’s Life

Miley, 3 months after surgery, plus 20 pounds

Miley, a black lab that came to Deer Creek Animal Hospital early this spring with an unusual and serious condition is well on his way to a happy and healthy life thanks to a desperately needed surgery and follow up care at Deer Creek Animal Hospital.

A team of veterinarians including Dr. Dave Mathiesen, Dr. Ken Lee and Dr. Kurt Grimm performed jaw surgery on Miley to help the young dog open his jaw a little further and be able to take in the food and nutrition he so desperately needed.  Miley’s jaw had nearly healed closed following what appeared to be a gunshot wound as much as a year earlier.

Three months after surgery, Miley has gained 20 pounds and is well on his way to a healthy new life with his family.
